MTSS Writing Cohort: Expanding Tier 1

MTSS team members will have an opportunity to present case study data and discuss MTSS project implementation. Project assessments will be reviewed and student data will be collectively analyzed. Team members will also have an opportunity to expand their knowledge of the micro- and macro-processing involved in writing. Integrated applications will be presented to illustrate how micro- and macro- processes can be addressed in a single, integrated instructional session. Team members will also have opportunities to experience student writing instruction during simulated practice activities and plan writing instruction that includes peer collaboration, use of goal setting, and ongoing feedback.

Objectives

  • Present case study data within the context of a problem solving model
  • Plan and implement writing instruction that integrates micro- and macro components
  • Plan and implement writing instruction that includes peer collaboration, use of goal setting, and on-going feedback

Target Audience

Reading Educators, General Educators, Special Education Leaders

Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.
