Family Coaching Implementer’s Conference: Celebrate the Journey

This conference will provide parent, practitioner and researcher perspectives on the power and challenge of creating a true parent/professional partnership through family coaching. Blending family perspectives with professional experiences will provide a road map to continuing the journey to providing high quality home visits.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe why it is essential for professionals to consider parents’ perspectives of Early Intervention
  • Identify strategies to partner with families to understand their values and priorities
  • Describe the evidence supporting family coaching as best practice in Early Intervention
  • Implement next steps in family-based coaching and embed intervention in everyday routines

Target Audience

Early Interventionists, Service Coordinators, Administrators, and Families engaged in home based services

Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.
