National Network of Partnership Schools: Establishing a System of Support

During this session, school teams will gain an understanding of the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) to organize and strengthen their existing family-school partnerships. Team will be introduced to the NNPS framework of Six Types of Involvement, discuss challenges associated with the six types of involvement, and learn of resources available through the NNPS to overcome barriers. In collaboration with PaTTAN consultants, teams will develop a one year action plan for partnership that will be linked to their current school improvement plan.


Participants will:

  • Examine the Framework of Six Types of Involvement that links family involvement to successful school practices
  • Discuss the roles associated with the Action Team for Partnership
  • Develop a one year action plan for partnership to address family involvement in school improvement efforts, non-academic goals, and the enhancement of a welcoming environment

Building administrator/LEA site coordinator; General education teacher(s); Special education teacher(s); Family member(s); Optional team members include special education administrator and community partners, students

Individuals attending this workshop must arrive on time and stay the duration of the workshop in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours.
