During MTSS Boot Camp, cross-disciplinary teams will acquire the fundamental knowledge and evidence-based resources necessary to adopt, implement and sustain a multi-tiered system of support in order to realize the goals associated with continuous school improvement processes and practices.


Participants will be able to:

  • Describe the conceptual underpinnings/tenets of MTSS
  • Determine the current level of fidelity of MTSS implementation in your school/district
  • Explain the impact of the roles that leadership, competency and organization play within the continuous school improvement process
  • Identify critical areas of focus that will result in improved outcomes and sustainable practices

Target Audience

Administrators, Instructional Coaches, Data Coaches, Reading Specialists, General and Special Education Teachers, ESL providers, School Counselors, School Psychologists, core school improvement teams.

Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.

Additional Information

While the content is the same at all training session dates, for the sake of uniformity among participants, the following dates/locations are recommended by grade levels:

Elementary School Focus:
HBG 9/22/17; 5/2/18
East 10/5/17; 5/9/18
PGH 10/12/17; 5/1/18

Middle School Focus:
HBG 9/20/17; 3/20/18
East 9/27/17; 3/8/18
PGH 9/26/17; 3/20/18

High School Focus:
HBG, East and PGH 4/4/18; 4/11/18

Participation is limited to eight cross-disciplinary teams of up to ten members each, first-come, first served. In order to participate, each team must include an IU MTSS consultant and building principal or other administrative lead. When you have your team in place, contact Kelly Kapp at kkapp@pattan.net with the names of your team members. Upon receiving your team information, Kelly will send you registration instructions.
