Session 29Helping Secondary Principals Establish Tiered Systems of Support via Creative Scheduling

Uploaded: June 12, 2013 |  0 Comments  |

Remedial courses in the school schedule may work as Tier 3 interventions, but middle and high schools continue to struggle to provide responsive, shorter term Tier 1 and 2 interventions during the school day. In most cases attempts to provide intervention services before school, after school, during lunch, or in place of study hall have proven unsuccessful as systemic approaches. This session focuses on an innovation in secondary school scheduling known as the Intervention/Enrichment period. Bell schedules, program ideas, planning documents, and management systems from schools around the country will be shared.

There are two handouts: 29a and 29b
