These links provide resources to literacy as it pertains to English Learners (ELs):
- the Center for Applied Linguistics web site and the work of Diane August and colleagues. See especially info on CREATE, a Center that is producing some nice resources.
- the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk at the Univ. of Texas at Austin (you can search their “Library” on the topic English language learning and find several things, including lesson plans and materials.)
- WETA has a web site with resources on ELL by grade (at Colorin Colorado), and they have some resources for teachers of ELs with LD. Here’s a link to Elsa Cardenas-Hagan on effective instruction strategies for ELs with LD which is also found on the Reading Rockets web site.
